Mom knows best

Heart to heart on Hygiene.

As your daughter breaks through childhood and enters into adulthood, take advantage of this time to share with her your motherly wisdom that can prepare her well for the challenges that lie ahead.

You can share the most important lessons you learned when you were a teenager. One important aspect is coping with all the physical changes she is starting to experience.

Image boost
Now that your daughter’s becoming a young lady, she might start complaining about being fat and other possible insecurities. Why not exercise together? Explain to her how healthy habits—like getting in dupe, having enough sleep, and eating healthily—can make her feel more confident. Get in the healthy habit together. Having you, her best role model, beside her will definitely make things a lot easier.

Hair matters
Your teenager will notice hair growing in places they never did before. Aside from being a source of discomfort or embarrassment, this may also be a cause for unwanted odor. This is because odor-causing bacteria often thrive on the oils that coat hair stands. Encourage her to be more thorough when bathing and washing these areas.

Purely, freshly clean
Smelling nice and clean is a confidence-booster for every girl. ‘When she starts getting her period, it is most important that your daughter gets in the habit of practicing good feminine hygiene. It is not enough to just change her pads every few hours. She also needs to wash her feminine area with a mild and gentle feminine wash especially formulated for teens to remove odor-causing bacteria without harming her sensitive skin.
